Coca-Cola CD exposes young talent

2009-11-13 14:50

It’s that time of the year again and the sun is in full swing –

it’s summer time.

As part of their Open Happiness summer campaign, Coca-Cola teamed

up with Gallo Records to release a summer compilation CD which features the

winners of their Summer Yama SummAHHH talent search.

Jabulane Gambu (18) and Bianca Erasmus (16), both from

Bloemfontein, as well as Nelisiwe Chitha (16) from Port Elizabeth, are the three

unknowns lending their vocal skills to the album.

In an interview with City Press, the dreadlocked Gambu said he

still feels like he’s dreaming and someone will soon wake him up.

“It’s always been my dream to be a well-known artist and explore my

talent.

“It’s been a dream working with talented people like Nelisiwe and

Bianca, and especially Lebo M.”

Asked whether he gets along with the two girls, Gambu replied that

they “are bonding”, and “are a family”.

“We just clicked immediately because, even though we are from

different backgrounds, our target is the same.”

For Gambu, that target is to learn about the music industry as much

as possible before he can consider a solo career.

“I’m looking very far,” he says.

While the three young ones live their dream, the jury’s still out

on whether the CD will be as blazing as the sun is this summer.
