DA pushes for toilet report

2011-05-12 14:15

The DA today urged the Human Rights Commission to release its report into the Viljoenskroon open toilet saga in the Free State as soon as possible.

Democratic Alliance MP Lindiwe Mazibuko said the commission had told the party the document was being “finalised” and would be “released soon”, without committing to a date.

“The Democratic Alliance believes it imperative the report be released immediately . . . this issue has now been under investigation for over seven months.”

Mazibuko said the investigation into the Makhaza toilet case in the DA-run Cape Town metro had taken three months.

Earlier, the HRC said the report had to go through the normal processes and that a final one might not even be ready by the end of this week.
