DJ Donald Duck murder case transferred to high court

2014-08-13 11:04

Radio presenter Donald Sebolai, accused of murdering his girlfriend, appeared briefly in the Protea Magistrates’ Court in Soweto today where the matter was postponed.

Magistrate Herman Badenhorst told Sebolai his case would be transferred to the high court.

“The matter will be tried at the high court. We first have to finalise investigations and once the director of public prosecutions sends me the docket, I will sign it and transfer it to the high court,” he said.

Dressed in grey trousers and green jersey, Sebolai stood in the dock fiddling with his fingers as he listened to the magistrate. As he left the courtroom, he tossed a note to a woman in the gallery.

The woman declined to speak to the media outside the courtroom.

Sebolai is accused of stabbing his girlfriend Rachel Dolly Tshabalala at his flat in Jabulani, Soweto, on June 29.

The Jozi FM DJ known as DJ Donald Duck was arrested in Dube on July 8.

The case was postponed to September 25 for further investigation.
