Dean Furman has not put a foot wrong since making his Bafana Bafana debut in September 2012. Tonight, the 25-year-old midfielder will be up against the same side he faced when he was introduced to the world stage.

He says he is looking forward to rubbing shoulders with some of the best players in the world during Bafana’s encounter with Brazil.

But Furman emphasised the importance of improving their work rate if they are to match the Brazilians.

“Anything less than 100% against big teams like Brazil and you’ll get found out. Whoever gets the nod will have to be at their best,” said Furman at the prematch conference.

He said he was happy with how the team had been gelling, particularly in the middle of the park, where he is expected to partner with Andile Jali and Oupa Manyisa.

“We played well against Spain and it is important we continue where we left off. It will not be easy but we will be up to it,” said the Doncaster Rovers player.

He said they would not show respect to Brazil as that might bite them.

“We will give them respect but like Spain, we don’t want to give them too much. We will go into this game with the same kind of belief that we did in that one, it’ll be difficult but we’re all very much looking forward to it.”

» Kickoff is at 7pm.
