Death threat for AWB killer

2010-04-09 08:43

Former Bophuthatswana police officer Ontlametse Bernstein Menyatsoe, who killed

three AWB members in 1994, received a death threat yesterday, Gauteng police

said.

Warrant officer Sello Mangena said Menyatsoe found a threatening

letter under his door at a training centre at Hammanskraal. It was written in

Afrikaans.

Menyatsoe was granted amnesty for killing the AWB’s Jacobus

Stephanus Uys, Alwyn Wolfaardt and Nicolas Cornelius Fourie during an AWB

invasion into the former independent homeland of Bophuthatswana in March

1999.

Police are investigating a case of intimidation.

Menyatsoe was undergoing training in Hammanskraal and left his room

shortly after 7am. When he returned he found the letter under the door. Nothing

else in the room was disturbed.

Mangena said he did not have the contents of the letter on hand,

but the SABC reported that it promised Menyatsoe grief, hunger and death.
