Delay in electing new CSA president

2012-03-17 10:44

Cricket SA’s (CSA) board meeting, which was underway in Johannesburg today, is now working to a different agenda, CSA spokesman Michael Owen-Smith said.

It was expected that the first item on the agenda would be the election of a new acting president after AK Khan resigned from the position earlier in the week.

However, they have changed the order of the meeting and are now dealing with the findings and recommendations of the ministerial inquiry, headed by retired judge Chris Nicholson.

“You can understand that this is a very difficult matter and may take some time,” said Owen-Smith.

A media briefing, scheduled for 12.30 today is likely to be delayed till after 1pm.
