Demi ‘treated for drug abuse’

2012-01-25 13:32

Los Angeles – Demi Moore is reportedly being treated for substance abuse according to American gossip website TMZ.com

Police sources allegedly informed the website that an emergency call was received from Moore’s residence at 10.45pm on Monday.

The website claims that paramedics responded to the call after which they assessed the situation and took her to a nearby hospital.

Although the star’s publicist has released a statement claiming that Moore is being treated for exhaustion, the website’s sources claim that the actress is actually being treated for substance abuse.

The official statement released by Moore’s publicist reads as follows: “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health.

“She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

However, sources have told E! News that the mother-of-three was “shaking and acting like she was suffering from a seizure”.

In light of the incident, Moore’s representative also confirmed she has dropped out of the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic, in which she had been cast as feminist icon Gloria Steinem.

Moore recently admitted in the wake of her separation with Ashton Kutcher that she has become scared and that she is “not worthy of being loved”.

She said: “What scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I’m really not lovable, that I’m not worthy of being loved.

“That there’s something fundamentally wrong with me and that I wasn’t wanted here in the first place.”
