Dropped Tshabalala harbours no grudges

Bafana Bafana winger Siphiwe Tshabalala has no hard feelings after being dropped from the team’s two previous Africa Cup of Nations games.

Tshabalala played in the opening game against Cape Verde, but sat out the two games after he was relegated to the bench.

The Kaizer Chiefs winger, who is the most capped player in the camp with 74 caps, said what mattered now was that the team was doing well.

“It is not about me but the team winning the tournament and uniting the nation through sport. Obviously if I get a chance again I will be grateful and will take it, and do my best to help the team achieve its objectives,” said Tshabalala.

He said unity in the camp was awesome and had made the difference in the team.

“We do so many things together on and off the field, and we are like a family. We get along very well and complement each other and are very supportive, and that is what has made us tick. Everyone is determined and showing hunger, and we showing how bad we want this tournament, not for us as players but for the nation.”

Shabba said he was confident the team would do well against Mali on Saturday and would like to get a chance of playing again.
