E-toll billing tests begin – Sanral

2012-04-13 15:00

Live testing of the e-toll billing system has started, the SA National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) has said.

Some motorists could get test invoices during this trial phase.

“During this test phase, registered e-road users will be able to observe the test toll transactions on their e-toll accounts,” the agency said in a statement today.

“During this test phase, no funds will be deducted from road users’ e-toll accounts and their current e-toll account balance will remain intact.”

Registered e-road users could track the test transactions on their accounts at www.sanral.co.za, with the accounts updated every 24 hours.

Those who were not registered could receive invoices via post, but would not need to pay the fees incurred in the test phase.

“The test invoices and e-toll account updates will represent the test e-toll transactions for particular toll gantries for the specific user for the test period,” Sanral said in a statement.

It encouraged road users to register for their e-tags to allow them to benefit from discounts, including the 48% e-tag discount, and the R550 per month tariff cap.
