Two fires in Cape Town caused damage of R925?000 and left 11 people homeless.

A fire occurred in Hanover Park on Monday afternoon which left four people homeless, the city’s disaster risk management centre spokesman Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said.

“It is suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical fault. The damages estimate to the value of R225 000.”

On Monday evening another fire broke out in Philippi.

Seven people were left displaced.

An electrical fault was also suspected, Solomons said.

The damages were estimated around R700?000.
