‘Enlightening’ Satanic black mass sold out

2014-09-21 11:00

A reverse exorcism, a woman in lingerie and a lot of bad language – that’s what’s on offer at a satanic blackmass to be held in Oklahoma today.

The event, to be conducted by devil-worshipping group Dakhma of Angra Mainyu, is already sold out, Sky News reported.

The Oklahoma City Civic Centre Music Hall, which is hosting the event, has promised it will be “enlightening but educational”.

All attendees – only 88 tickets were made available – must be at least 16 years old.

Sky News reported that the ceremony will be held before an altar-like table on which a woman in lingerie will lie.

Leaders of the service said they would use obscene language while stamping and spitting on an unconsecrated communion wafer.

The ritual will feature a satanic exorcism designed to banish the Holy Spirit from the follower’s body.

Adam Daniels, who describes himself as high priest of the group, said: “The goal for the event is to continue the satanic movement – to keep fighting for our rights for religious freedom.”

The Satanists have made some concessions to abide by local health and safety laws: they agreed not to use a real communion wafer, to forgo nudity and to use vinegar instead of urine.

Parks and recreation spokesperson woman Jennifer Lindsey-McClintock told ABC News: “Mr Daniels must abide by our local ordinances, our fire codes and all of our state laws. No blood-letting of any kind will be allowed.”

Catholic Archbishop Paul Coakley told local media he was “astonished and grieved that the civic centre would promote as entertainment and sell tickets for an event that is very transparently a blasphemous mockery of the mass”.
