I heart Jozi: Hey, baby, stop spoiling my day

2011-02-28 15:40

I have nothing at all against (most) men ... there are many I actually like.

But then there’s this other breed – a strange being, loud, rude and just generally abrasive.

It’s that guy who races past you in his sometimes-not-so-flashy car but still insists on hooting.

It’s the one whose cerebral functioning disconnects a little so he doesn’t realise just how long he’s been staring at a girl.

And the worst is that guy who just has to let you know that he sees you and he likes where his mind goes as he sees you.

My only question to men like these and even men who have defended men like these is a simple one: What exactly is my reaction supposed to be?

When you thought of all my possible reactions, which did you find to be the most probable and why was that not enough to gently guide you away from this doomed path?

But even more interestingly, what is the success rate of such a game plan?

Honestly, I’m curious. I enjoy my city but I’d really like to get into the psyche of those who insist on ruining every day with a *whistle whistle* “hello nice/baby/sugar/sweetness/segzy/babes/ngwana” ... (you name it ... some poor woman out there has heard it).
