Kaizer Chiefs captain and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has declared himself 99% ready for Saturday’s top of the table clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Khune has missed the club’s last few games due to an ankle injury but he tweeted today that he was almost fit.

“I’m 99% fit everyone.should be ready for the weekend,” he tweeted.

Khune’s availability will be a big boost to Chiefs’ title challenge. He was on the bench when the Amakhosi beat Golden Arrows 2-0 yesterday.

Although the team has done fairly well in his absence, his presence should inspire his teammates to double their efforts.

Chiefs lost to Platinum Stars in a league game and also to AS Vita in the CAF Champions League in Khune’s absence. But his replacements, Brilliant Khuzwayo and Reyaad Pieterse, have done well considering their lack of game time.

Saturday’s top of the table clash will go a long way in determining the title destination.

Log leaders Chiefs are three points ahead of Sundowns, who have played one more game.
