Coach Shakes Mashaba believes Bafana Bafana will have a successful Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Speaking ahead of Bafana’s opening game of the tournament against Algeria this evening, Mashaba was confident of the team’s success.

“There is no any other way,” said Mashaba when responding to a question on whether this was Bafana’s time.

“Even if you can look at how we celebrate, we are [ditching] all our old ideas, old attitude and old way of doing things. We have made the players aware of the importance of donning the national jersey and playing for the country,” said Mashaba.

The coach said he had nothing to complain about as the preparations went according to their plan.

“Our idea of going to Gabon worked for us as we had the best facilities and managed to address the question of the heat. There is not much complaining from our side and we are ready.”

Mashaba said his team had done everything right from the qualifiers and was hoping to take the same spirit to the tournament.

“Everything went well for us in the qualifiers as we qualified with a game to spare, which was our plan. We can do it again in this tournament because we have the boys to do it. They have shown the willingness and determination and we are happy with how things have turned out.”
