It’s the fault of the foreigners

2015-04-27 10:00

I want to express my utter disgust at what has happened in South Africa recently and would like to clarify a few economic reasons that cause xenophobia.

Foreigners come to townships and open informal businesses, hiring premises from locals.

The rent they pay to the landlord is low and they deliberately lower their prices to cause price wars.

This drives local formal businessmen out of business.

I urge government to look into this matter and solve it once and for all.

If it doesn’t, xenophobic attacks will become part of our daily lives.
