Jacko’s bodyguard and his local girl

He is a former friend and bodyguard of Michael Jackson and claims he is the father of the late pop star’s youngest child.

She is an Afrikaans singer from Emalahleni (Witbank) with plans to tour the world with her music.

And for nearly two months, wealthy Briton Matthew Fiddes (32) and singer Monique Foxx (19) have been involved in a steamy relationship.

Fiddes is so keen for the two to start a life together he has already started hinting that Foxx should come and live with him in London. She still lives with her parents.

Fiddes, who runs his own martial arts schools in Britain, is involved in a bitter struggle with Hollywood’s influential Jackson family for custody of the singer’s youngest child, Blanket.

But he took a break from court battles last week and came to visit his girl. The two met at Carnival City in Brakpan in March.

“I was attending the Ghoemas (Afrikaans music awards) and he had a meeting there,” Foxx says. “We bumped into each other and I was like, ‘Wow’.”

“She’s kidding, man. She took my number and started pestering me,” Fiddes replies jokingly.

“The first thing I noticed was how beautiful and short she is.” Foxx is 1.5m tall, and Fiddes stands at 1.8m. During an interview with City Press they could barely keep their hands off each other.

After this first meeting, they saw each other again briefly before he returned to London. “She was in my thoughts every day . . . I realised she’s the girl for me.”

Foxx leaves for London on May 10 and she will accompany Fiddes to the United States when he has DNA tests done there in June in a bid to prove he is the father of Blanket.

Fiddes says Michael was an excellent father. But when he saw how lonely Blanket was at the pop star’s funeral in 2009, he decided the child needed a father figure.

Jackson’s mother, Katherine, obtained temporary custody of her three grandchildren after his death.
Katherine says Fiddes is only after their money.

Fiddes replies, “I was richer than Michael when he died. I don’t need their money.”

He met the pop star when a friend introduced them. He acted as bodyguard when Jackson was in Britain.

“One day Michael said he wanted a child who was athletic. He offered me £500 000 (about R6.3 million) for my sperm cells. I did it for nothing. I didn’t do it the natural way. I was under anaesthetic, and it was a painful experience when I gave my sperm cells,” Fiddes says.

Fiddes wasn’t prepared to comment on the court case, except to say he would like to be a father to his child.
