2011-08-05 11:22

Musician Josh Groban will return to South Africa in November, performing in Sun City and Cape Town, Big Concerts said today.

“It is a great joy for me to return to South Africa,” he was quoted saying.

“It remains in my heart as a country that has inspired me in so many ways and to prepare for my return visit brings back a flood of wonderful memories.”

Groban would perform two concerts at The Superbowl, Sun City on November 26 and 27, and two at Grand Arena, GrandWest, Cape Town on November 29 and 30.

Groban last visited South Africa in 2004. During his visit he was appointed an official ambassador for former president Nelson Mandela’s project 46664.

He has also supported Siyawela, formerly Zamimpilo Orphanage, in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal through his own foundation Grobanites for Charity.

Groban recorded the song Weeping, written by South African Dan Heyman, with Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Vusi Mahlasela.

He has sold 750 000 albums in South Africa, making him one of the most successful international artists of the past 10 years.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket for between R416 and R770.
