Jub Jub victims still critical

2010-03-19 11:20

THE two schoolchildren injured in last week’s Soweto drag racing

accident were still in critical condition, a hospital official said today.

“They are still in ICU (intensive care unit). They are going to be

there for a while,” said Nokwanda Dambuza, spokesperson of Chris Hani

Baragwanath Hospital. “Their condition is still critical. Nothing has

changed.”

The two high school boys were injured in a crash that killed four

of their friends.

Hip-hop artist Molemo Maarohanye, aka Jub Jub, and his friend

Themba Tshabalala were allegedly drag racing in their Mini Coopers when they

ploughed into a group of schoolchildren last week Monday.

The pair was facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and

reckless and drunken driving.

Judgment on their bail application was expected in the Protea

Magistrates’ Court today.
