Judge turfed out of home

2014-06-04 11:10

Free State High Court Judge Shamin Ebrahim has reportedly been evicted from her townhouse in Bloemfontein.

The Volksblad reports that the judge’s belongings were carried out on to the pavement yesterday afternoon.

The eviction followed a court order for her to move out of the townhouse by the end of last month.

The report said the judge’s lease ended in January this year, but she refused to move out despite various written notices.

The high court granted an eviction order against the judge in April. She did not oppose the order.

The newspaper reported that the sheriff had helped in trying to organise storage space for the judge after the eviction.
