Juju’s ex-friend released on bail

2013-01-31 16:34

Boy Mamabolo, a former friend of axed ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema, has been released on bail in the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court.

Mamabolo was granted R10 000 bail and the matter was postponed to March 20 for further investigation, said Hawks spokesperson Captain Paul Ramaloko.

He faces 72 counts of fraud relating to his chairmanship of the Limpopo Geographical Names Committee.

Mamabolo was arrested yesterday.

He was recently embroiled in a court battle with Malema after he allegedly sent a threatening text message to the former youth leader.

He allegedly wrote in the SMS he would exhume the body of Malema’s mother and take her remains to Malema’s grandmother’s home in Seshego.

This was apparently in retaliation for Malema allegedly sending his allies to seduce Mamabolo’s girlfriend.

The crimen injuria case was provisionally struck off the court roll on Tuesday.

The SMS reportedly read: “This time I want to show you that I am more brutal and exhume Mahlodi from the grave and lay her in front of (your grandmother’s house). You have done many bad things to me.”
