Julius Malema said he was out to prove that “it is not cold outside the ANC” and that there is life outside the governing party, which expelled him before he formed the Economic Freedom Fighters.

Addressing his supporters in Polokwane earlier today, Malema said the ANC was making it cold inside the organisation in a bid to scare people from holding different views.

“My ambition is to show people that there is life outside the ANC. I live to prove that and see the EFF become testimony that indeed there is life outside the ANC,” he said.

“The reason why they say it’s cold outside the ANC is because when you disagree with them they try by all means to isolate you and ensure that you become irrelevant, so that anyone who tried to be like you will be scared and not try to challenge the ANC.”

He said wrongs were done with impunity in the ANC.

“Those who do right get punished and those who do wrong are celebrated, and that is the society we live in today,” Malema said.

“Those who are committing corruption are ANC members and by law of the ANC they will not be prosecuted. Anyone prosecuted is outside the ANC and therefore that person must be pursued to show that indeed it is cold outside the ANC. But it’s not cold. They make it cold to scare the society.”
