Real Housewives of Atlanta star and award-winning songwriter Kandi Burruss has proven that she’s not just a pretty face.

In her latest show, Kandi Factory, she’s showing off her other talent – transforming aspiring musicians into big stars.

The bubbly 38-year-old from Atlanta told City Press: “The show is all about helping people with their dreams. Whoever wins gets a record deal.”

Burruss said it has always been her dream to change people’s lives.

“People always forget that I’m also clued up when it comes to music – I’m also a musician,” said the former member of group Xscape.

Burruss describes herself as stubborn, dependable and cool.

She feels she’s misunderstood by people especially when it comes to her mother, Joyce Jones, who made headlines when she said she didn’t approve of Todd Tucker as her daughter’s husband.

The controversial star once told HollywoodLife.com: “Me and my mother had an issue even before we got to the wedding when we were just at the hotel getting ready … she always thinks she’s right.”

“People always judge me and my mother because she never liked Tucker. But things are fine now between my mother and Tucker – she has accepted that I love my husband,” said Burruss.

Asked when she’s releasing a new album, she said: “I’m hoping next year.”

» Kandi Factory’s last episode airs at 8.15pm tonight on Style Network (channel 173).

Kandi Burruss says it has always been her dream to change people’s lives.
