Kings of Leon postpone SA tour

2011-01-31 11:22

Kings Of Leon fans will have to wait until November to watch the foursome live in concert, following a postponement of their Johannesburg and Cape Town concerts scheduled for March.

The postponement, which organisers Big Concerts announced today, was to allow drummer Nathan Followill time to recover from surgery for a torn right labrum and bicep.

“Fans who have already purchased tickets for the tour should hold onto their tickets until further details are released,” Big Concerts said in a statement, adding it would take at least three months for Followill to recover.

“A new itinerary is currently being discussed for November and more news will be circulated to fans next week once venue availability can be established.” The Australian tour dates had also been affected.

In a recent Twitter post, Followill told fans: “Sorry to all the fans in Australia and South Africa. My bum wing needs more time to heal but we’ll be back later this year. Sorry again”.

Tour updates will be made available on www.facebook.com/bigconcerts or www.twitter.com.
