Legislature human waste dump a ‘warning’ of things to come

Two men have claimed responsibility for dumping human waste on the steps of the Western Cape legislature in a protest against portable toilets.

ANC proportional councillor and youth league member Loyiso Nkohla, and former ANC councillor and banned league member Andile Lili reportedly said the spill was a “warning” of things to come, the Cape Argus reported today.

“We will return with thousands of these bucket toilets next week and empty them around the legislature building,” Lili was quoted as saying.

“We were ready to be arrested and will die for this.”

The men walked to the legislature around noon on Monday and emptied the canisters of sewage in full view of police, who were seated in the foyer.

The ANC Youth League has denied responsibility and condemned the act.

Regional secretary Mfuzo Zenzile told the newspaper Lili was no longer a member and Nkohla would be “dealt with” if he had acted in his capacity as a youth league member.
