Leon Schuster alive and kicking

2012-09-18 06:59

After malicious rumours of his death were spread via Blackberry Messenger (BBM) at the weekend, Leon Schuster has confirmed that he is still alive an kicking.

Huisgenoot reported that after the rumour, which claimed Schuster had died in a car accident, started circulating via a BBM-message, Leon received a string of phone calls from friends and family to check whether he was still alive.

This prank comes soon after a BMM-message was spread around saying that Joost van der Westhuizen had died.

‘You don’t go joking with death’

He added that even though he is known for his own pranks on people, there are certain things you shouldn’t be joking with.

“I like a joke and it’s one of my most loved hobbies, but not a joke like this. You don’t joke about death.

My family were all shocked and even I got a bit of a fright. It’s not a fun feeling to hear that you are dead when you are actually still alive. It was a sick joke, just like the Springbok-match this weekend,” he joked yesterday.

But, as fate would have it, Schuster was in small car accident at the weekend. While on his way to meet a friend for dinner, a woman crashed into him from behind.

He sustained no injuries, but his car was not so lucky.

“If I catch the guy that is spreading these lies, I will hang him from a lamp post,” Schuster joked.
