Lolly was a legend – tributes

2010-05-04 08:15

Hundreds of Facebook users have paid tribute to Teazers owner Lolly

Jackson who was gunned down at his friend’s home in Kempton Park, east of

Johannesburg, last night.

Some have described the strip club boss as a legend.

“R.I.P. Lolly. U were a legend... I hope they book these guys,”

said Dragutin Marinkovic on the social network site, while others shared similar

sentiments.

Messages of condolences had been posted since midnight, about 30

minutes after Jackson’s murder was published on media sites.

Ekurhuleni police spokesperson Sergeant Tsholofele Madumo said

Jackson sustained 15 gunshot wounds.

Police were informed of the crime when a man claiming to be the

shooter telephoned them.

No arrests had been made yet and the motive was unknown. The gunman

fled the scene in Jackson’s Jeep Cherokee.

Jackson’s last status update on Facebook was at 9.28am

yesterday.

“It is a fine thing to have ability, but the ability to discover

ability in others is the true test,” it said.

His profile, which has more than 2 500 friends, stated that he was

“in an open relationship”, had a child called Manoli Jackson, that his hometown

was Bedfordview, and that he attended Dawnview High.

“Love cars, Love all women”, he said under personal

information.

His interests were working on cars and “big business”.

Jackson posted numerous pictures on the site including some of his

family, his home and a few bright-coloured sport cars.

One of his cars landed him in hot water with law enforcement

agencies in 2005. He was caught travelling at 249km per hour in his Lamborghini

and at the time, he claimed he was en-route to church.

He was again caught

speeding earlier this year.
