Bafana Bafana’s victory over Angola today came at a price as they have now lost striker Lehlohonolo Majoro for the next game against Morocco on Sunday.

The Kaizer Chiefs striker, who came off the bench to score the second goal, revealed that he would be out of action for two or three matches after leaving the field on a stretcher.

He said he had seven stitches to his shin after colliding with Angola goalkeeper Mamona Lama.

“The medical team says I will probably miss two or three games and I will see what happens then hopefully we will still be in the tournament by then,” said Majoro.

He joins Lerato Chabangu and Kagisho Dikgacoi on the casualty list. The two missed the victory against Angola because of a strained groin and a swelling knee, respectively.

But Majoro said he had confidence that other players would do the job in his absence.

He was delighted that he made all the difference when he came on as his goal ensured victory for Bafana.

“I was happy to score the goal which was a breather and a crucial one. We all needed this win and credit must go to everyone.”

He said after analysing Saturday’s performance the players knew what they had to do to win the game.

“What made the difference today was our level of concentration and 100% focus. We gave all our efforts in this game. We had to convince the supporters that we can do it for them and we owed it to them.”

Durban has been Majoro’s happy hunting ground as he used to bang them in for AmaZulu there before and he said he enjoyed playing there.

He scored his first Bafana goal at the same venue against Malawi last month.
