Make or break for Leopards

2013-05-07 16:50

It is win or bust for bottom of the log Black Leopards when they host Mamelodi Sundowns at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane this evening. Kick-off is at 7.30pm.

With three games to go Leopards need maximum points to move away from the bottom of the table and failure to beat Sundowns could condemn them to the National First Division.

The Limpopo outfit suffered a fifth loss in six league matches last week when they were thrashed 4-0 away by AmaZulu and would have to improve on their home record, after winning just three out of 14 this season, and suffering seven defeats.

A victory for Leopards will see them exchanging positions with fifteenth-placed Chippa United.

After winning their last game against Free State Stars last week, Downs will be looking to continue with their winning streak. But they need to improve on their away records as they have just won three of their 13 matches on the road.

Sundowns are looking to earn a place in the top eight bracket and tonight’s game gives them the opportunity to get closer to their target.

Leopards know that time is no longer on their side if they are to avoid the drop.
