Malema’s struggle leaders can hardly be called credible

2011-11-15 09:37

Malema cracks me up when he brags about the credibility of struggle leaders who lined up to testify in his favour to fend off possible expulsion from the party.

Tony Yengeni, Tokyo Sexwale, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and Fikile Mbalula?

I beg your pardon! With so many scandals shadowing them, have we not become enough of a laughing stock to the world already, owing to their poor conduct?

Their moral standing in society is seriously in question. Their decision to stand by Malema is therefore not a surprise to many of us.

The problem with populists is that they are bad at providing solutions; what they know best is how to make unrealistic demands and empty promises.

I also noticed in the recent elections that the more Malema insults the intelligence of South Africans, the more they swell the ranks of the opposition parties.

Perhaps the ANC must not expel him; he is good for the opposition parties after all. It is only a matter of time before the real masses take their stand against corruption.

Malema can run, but he cannot hide.
