A man who accidentally shot his son at a hunting expo in Midrand has been charged with the negligent use of a firearm.

Sean Kotzin was arrested yesterday and appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court, Johannesburg, where he was granted R2 000 bail, The New Age reported.

The case was postponed to May 21 for further investigation.

His seven-year-old son is in a stable condition in Carstenhof Hospital. The boy was critically wounded at Gallagher Estate on Monday at HuntEx 2014.

Kotzin went into the toilet cubicle with his son where his gun went off, wounding the boy in the chest.
