Man demands teen rape victim return money

2013-08-01 18:24

A 63-year-old man who had offered his alleged rape victim money and gifts, demanded his money back when she started refusing to have sex with him.

The man, from Mpumalanga, is accused of raping a teenager since the age of 13 years. He was arrested yesterday in Volksrust.

He was taken into custody after a 17-year-old schoolgirl opened a case against him, said the police’s Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.

She alleged the man started raping her when she was 13.

“When the girl started to refuse to have a sexual relationship with the man, he then demanded his money back.”

The girl’s friends reported the matter to the police. The suspect will appear in the Volksrust Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
