Man in court over rape of Katlehong school girls

2010-12-02 09:21

A 40-year-old man was expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court in connection with the rape of seven Katlehong primary school girls, Gauteng police said today.

“It is alleged that he was raping them at his house from April this year,” said Captain Mega Ndobe.

The man was arrested in Ramokonopi East yesterday after one of the victims’mothers noticed her daughter had been sexually abused. The pair opened a rape case at the Katlehong police station on November 29.

Ndobe said the girl told police she was not the man’s only victim. He had allegedly raped other girls, who all went to the same Katlehong primary school.

Police investigations found that at least seven girls, aged between seven and 13, had been abused.
