Mandela family feud deepens – report

2013-12-17 11:26

A feud between Nelson Mandela’s children and grandchildren has deepened in the days after his death and funeral.

Just days before Madiba’s Sunday funeral, Mandla Mandela was pushed out of the family homestead in Qunu, the Times reported today.

Locks were changed at the estate while water and lights at Mandla’s house were cut.

Transport to the funeral was also not provided for Mandla’s relatives and political and religious leaders aligned to him were sidelined and refused accreditation.

He was also told by Makaziwe, Madiba’s eldest daughter, to remove his livestock from the homestead.

The Times newspaper reported that attempts by Graça Machel and George Bizos to quell the feud also failed.

Attempts to get comment from Makaziwe or Mandla were unsuccessful.
