Master Chef heads for Jozi

2011-08-26 08:12

Adam Liaw was named as the winner of MasterChef Australia last night – and now the show’s legions of fans can see the kitchen conqueror in the flesh at this year’s Joburg leg of the Good Food and Wine Show in September.

Liew said of his win: “It was extraordinary. I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy! To all the viewers, the biggest thank you in the world. It’s a great feeling to know that there have been literally millions of people cheering me on.”

The title means he can ditch his legal career in favour of something more flavoursome – and he’ll be showing his South African fans how to flambé, soufflé and sauce up their food.

The cookery book that he was commissioned to put together as part of his win, Two Asian Kitchens, will be launched at the Good Food and Wine Show.

» The Good Food and Wine Show takes place at the Coca-Cola Dome in Joburg from September 22 to 25.

» Liaw will be appearing on September 22 in the Chefs in Action Theatre at 11am and 7.30pm and you can cook alongside him in the Get Fresh with BBC Lifestyle Theatre at 3.30pm.
