Meyiwa: Mboro gives police reward R20 000 boost

2014-10-29 12:18

A pastor and self-proclaimed “prophet” who likens himself to Nigeria’s TB Joshua has offered R20 000 to the police as part of the reward for catching Senzo Meyiwa’s killers.

Paseka Motsoeneng, known as Prophet Mboro, issued a statement today saying he would be contacting the police to formally make the offer and “work out the necessary logistics”.

There is currently a R250 000 reward on offer by the police for information that leads to the successful arrest and conviction of the men who shot Meyiwa dead at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s home on Sunday night.

Motsoeneng, who founded and runs the Incredible Happenings Ministry in Katlehong, encouraged “fellow worshippers and members of the community at large to support the police efforts in locating and apprehending the culprits”.

“For a long time now, our communities have been under siege from criminals. We must assist the SAPS to reclaim our neighbourhoods, and do all we can in providing information that will lead to rooting out crime.”

Motsoeneng was in the news recently after he suggested in an interview with the Sowetan that he could perform the same “miracles” as Joshua, whose church guesthouse collapsed in September killing more than 100 people – most of them South Africans.
