Senegal’s Moussa Sow broke Ghana’s hearts with a last-gasp goal that earned his team three points in the opening game of Group C.

Sow came from the bench to score the winner with a minute left on the clock and sparked wild celebrations from his bench and supporters alike.

Earlier in the second half, Mame Biram Diouf brought Senegal level after going down to Andre Ayew’s penalty in the first half.

This was a classic game of two halves with Ghana dominating the proceedings in the first 45 minutes and Senegal coming back strongly in the second half to win the West African contest.

It was not a good opening half hour as both teams were still sizing each other and the Black Stars were lucky to be awarded a penalty that led to the opening goal.

However they were guilty of missing a chance that would have kept them in a comfortable position when Mohammed Rabiu failed to convert with only goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul to beat.

They were made to pay in the second stanza as Senegal took the game to Ghana, searching for the equaliser.

England-based Diouf, who earlier forced a fine save from Razak Braimah, scored an easy goal when he headed home into an empty net after the ball ricocheted off the upright.

Then just when everyone thought the game would be yet another stalemate in the tournament, Sow pounced in injury time to give Senegal the victory with virtually the last kick of the game.
