Muvhango actress dies after long illness

Elelwani “DJ Jackee” Muleya has died, her brother said today.

Comedian and radio disc jockey Shonisani “Ashifashabba” Muleya said his

sister, who was a weekend breakfast host for Limpopo-based radio station

Capricorn FM at the time of her passing on Wednesday morning, died of liver-related surgery.

Muleya (32), who was diagnosed with a fibroid-related medical condition in August last year, was

rushed to the little Company of Mercy private hospital in Pretoria a few weeks

ago after experiencing complications.

She had undergone three operations within a year, her brother and

Capricorn FM programme manager said.

Jackee was also a DJ for Technikon Northern Gauteng radio station,

Capricorn FM, starred as Tshianeo in Muvhango and appeared as a guest star in

the second episode of the SABC 3 hospital drama series Jozi H, among


Jackee will be buried on Wednesday at 6am at Makwarela outside Thohoyandou

in Limpopo.
