Afro-jazz songbird Pu2ma is packing her overseas suitcase again.

Pu2ma, who dazzled jazz aficionados in China in 2010, will fly to France to perform at the annual Fête de la Musique on Thursday.

Pu2ma, who made headlines during this year’s Cape Town International Jazz Festival, said she would join Mzansi’s jazz juggernaut Hugh Masekela who was also booked to perform at the event.

“I still can’t believe the day is almost closer and I will be sharing the stage with the great father of jazz Hugh Masekela,” she said in a statement.

She said she would not only dazzle the French nation with her earthy and soulful voice, but also with her imposing frame.

“My frame is tall and beautiful like a lioness on the African savannah and it has been felt during my tour in China. It’s a beautiful country and people not only (appreciated) my music there but me as an African woman,” she said.

Pu2ma said the Fête de la Musique promoters said they had booked her because they were impressed with her performance at the Cape Town jazz fest.

“So going to perform in France is a huge achievement for me. Although I performed there in April this year as backing vocalist for Rebecca Malope, this time I’m going there as Pu2ma and I’m nervous,” she said.
