No one has been arrested yet for Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa’s murder.

“Investigations are continuing,” Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Neville Malila said.

Meyiwa was shot in his upper body in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, while visiting his singer and actress girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, on Sunday night.

According to police, one shot was fired inside the house and two more were fired randomly outside.

The attackers used a .38 revolver so no cartridges were left on the scene, police said yesterday.

The attackers demanded cellphones and money.

National police commissioner Riah Phiyega announced yesterday that she had set up a multidisciplinary task team made up of forensic, crime intelligence, and visible policing members to handle the case.

A reward of up R250 000 was being offered for information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the killers.

Malila said information on the identity of the alleged killers was being corroborated for identikits. “The suspects’ identikits are expected to be released this afternoon,” he said.
