Last week, Apple announced the next-generation iPhone and the digital giant’s foray into wearable technology with the Apple Watch.

The company also attempted to better Beyoncé’s surprise album release tactic in December last year and Jay-Z’s Samsung release deal in July last year, and give all 50 million iTunes users the new U2 album, Songs of Innocence, for free.

But no one wanted it. The result was a chorus of complaints from people unhappy with the album sitting in their iTunes account.

In response, Apple released a tool that allows users to delete the unsolicited album. It warned that once Songs of Innocence was removed, users would have to pay for it if they wanted it again.
