Obamas address Batman shooting incident

Denver – US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle have released a statement after masked gunmen opened fire and killed 14 people during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises in Denver, Colorado.

According to The Telegraph, the Obamas revealed that they are “shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting”, in which 14 people were killed and another 50 injured.

“Federal and local law enforcement are still responding and my administration will do everything we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time,” the statement read.

The Obamas also assured the nation that they are “committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice”.

They added: “All of us must have the people of Aurora in our thoughts and prayers…”

Sapa reported that police arrested one of the alleged gunmen and were searching for the other following chaotic scenes at the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises, the latest Batman movie.

According to reports the youngest person injured was a 3-month-old baby.
