Clash of the Choirs: Finale

Mzansi Magic

Sunday, 5.30pm

Much has been made of Moneoa Moshesh being the last woman standing in the Clash of the Choirs, the music reality show that pits established musicians against each other to start a choir and compete.

Moneoa, a relative newcomer to music, has outstayed veterans such as Tshedi Mholo and Simphiwe Dana, who were knocked out of the show early on.

Her success could only come down to her energy and youthful enthusiasm, as seen in her song selections, choreography and wardrobe.

For someone who started off sick – remember when she became violently ill while combing Mpumalanga for talent – she has done well for herself.

Tonight she takes on the titans of the industry: hitmaker Robbie Malinga, who is largely responsible for the success of Zahara and many more; and Lebo Shugasmakx Mothibe from Skwatta Kamp, the revolutionary hip-hop band. The judges have weighed in on the choirs and the public votes have been counted.

Sit back and see who takes home the R750 000 grand prize. Will Moneoa continue rising, or will she be stumped by her more experienced rivals?
