Oscar winner Bullock finalises divorce

,

Actress Sandra Bullock’s divorce from cheating husband Jesse James

was finalised on Monday, two months after the Oscar winner filed for divorce,

said People magazine.

The pair filed for divorce in Texas, citing “discord or conflict of

personalities”, the magazine said.

A representative of the actress confirmed the divorce was

final.

Bullock (45) and James (41), a motorcycle mechanic and reality

television personality, had been married for five years. Their marriage crumbled

following reports of James’ infidelities.

According to Texan law, James is not entitled to spousal support. A

couple has to be married for at least 10 years to qualify for support.

In April, Bullock announced that she had taken in a baby boy,

Louis, in January. The boy was born in New Orleans a few weeks earlier.

The divorce would clear the way for adopting Louis as a single

parent, the report said. The couple had wanted to adopt a child for several

years.

The actress found out about her husband’s affairs shortly after

winning an Academy Award for best actress for her role in The Blind Side.

She

retreated from public life, but has recently returned to the spotlight,

attending movie award ceremonies and a charity concert in the past few weeks.
