PS: Leanne Manas

2009-11-13 12:55

SABC2’s Morning Live has just turned 10 so who better to interview in this week’s PS than the lovely Leanne Manas, a mother who is passionate about this country and a presenter who keeps us company during breakfast every morning.

Life is...entirely what you make of it.

My first job was ...waitressing in an Italian restaurant. When I was studying drama I also used to dress up as a clown and go to kiddies parties as a face painter.

Celebrating 10 years of Morning Live is ...an amazing achievement for South African television. It is not often a programme lasts 10 years and keeps growing in stature.

The most romantic thing I’ve ever done is ...go hot air ballooning with my husband at dawn over Joburg. We had a champagne breakfast floating in the sky.

Right now I am listening to...Michael Bublé’s Crazy Love.

My real life hero is ... Nelson Mandela. I think it’s an obvious choice after what he has done for our country and still continues to do just by mentioning his name.

My fictional hero is ... Superman.

My favourite place in South Africa is ... Mpumalanga and Western Cape. I love the wildlife in Mpumalanga – that is what I truly miss when I am away from South Africa and always feel like I need to get my fix on a regular basis. I just love the Western Cape for its sheer beauty and the unique “African Europeaness” of Cape Town.

I love being around my family because ...they make me laugh and feel happy. It’s a sense of belonging and support that I feel with them and love dearly.

My dream car is ... an Audi R8 or Bentley GTC Speed.

Before the end of the day I just have to ... thank God for all the wonderful gifts he has given me.

Living the African dream for me would be ... watching my son grow up in a South Africa where we are all one people, living in harmony without fear and intimidation of any kind.

If I could change one thing about me it would be ... my insatiable appetite.

When I think of 2010, I think of... what an amazing job we as South Africans are going to show the world.

The best day of the week is ...Friday.

I knew my career and I were meant to be when ... I first sat in front of a camera and felt I am now living a dream.

My favourite room in the house is ...the bedroom.

My favourite childhood memory is... going to our holiday flat on the Marine Parade in Durban and that smell of the road as I would sleep at the back of the car in the early hours of the morning.

My all-time favourite old school track is...Sugarman by Rodriguez.

My next project is ... being the best mother I can be.
