Parreira names his national troops

2010-01-14 09:16

BAFANA Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has named a 29-man

squad for a training camp in Durban expected to start on Friday.

Mamelodi Sundowns dominate the list with as many as nine players,

followed by Orlando Pirates with seven players.

Sundowns boss Patrice Motsepe would have been happy with the latest

developments as it has always been his wish to contribute players to the

national team.

Parreira said the purpose of the camp was part of his team’s

preparations for the World Cup. Bafana would go into a month-long camp in Brazil

in March followed by another camp in Germany.

“This is part of our programme to prepare the team for the World

Cup. Those who are not part of this camp can still get a chance in future if

they do well,” said Parreira.
