Police postpone crime stats release

2014-09-17 09:59

The release of the 2013-2014 crime statistics has been postponed to Friday.

“The South African Police Service apologises for any inconvenience that may result from this change,” police spokesperson, Colonel Vishnu Naidoo, said today.

The statistics were supposed to be released tomorrow, a day after the Institute for Security Studies briefed media on the latest police crime statistics.

Police Minister Nkosinathi Nhleko and national police commissioner Riah Phiyega will release the statistics at the South African Police Service Tshwane Training Academy, in Pretoria. They will be accompanied by Deputy Police Minister Maggie Sotyu.
