ProVerb in an accident

2011-06-15 13:14

Rapper and Idols presenter ProVerb this morning knocked down a 37-year-old Zimbabwean woman.

The father of two, whose real name is Tebogo Thekiso, was travelling home after broadcasting the 4am-6am show on 94.7 Highveld when the accident took place on Paul Kruger Drive in Roodepoort, west of Joburg.

“I am shocked and devastated that this has happened,” said ProVerb.

“It was an accident and I am giving the family and woman’s employer my full support. I stayed with her on the scene to make sure she received the attention she needed and I went to the hospital as soon as was possible to check on her.

“I can confirm that she has no broken bones. I am waiting for further details on the head injury she sustained.”

The 30-year-old spoke about the incident this morning on 702 and his colleges at M-Net also showed support for his honesty to speak up before the news came out in the media.

“We wish the person in question a speedy recovery and our support is with ProVerb during this difficult time,” said Pierre Cloete, M-Net’s Channel Manager.

Netcare 911’s Jeff Wicks said on Eye Witness News that the woman was rushed to hospital with severe head injuries.
