R50 000 reward for arrest of DJ accused of killing girlfriend

A R50 000 reward has been offered for the arrest of a radio DJ who allegedly killed his girlfriend in Jabulani, Soweto, Gauteng police said.

“The R50 000 is offered to anyone who has information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect. Police continue to search for him,” Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said today.

The DJ’s 32-year-old girlfriend was stabbed several times and locked in a flat in Jabulani on Sunday.

The man phoned the woman’s friend and told her he had killed her.

The radio presenter is an employee at Soweto’s community radio station, Jozi FM.

On Monday, Jozi FM manager Mpho Mhlongo said they did not know the man’s whereabouts and called on him to turn himself in.

“This will enable the judicial process to run its course and closure can be found for the families, relatives and friends on both sides,” he said.
