2014-07-29 21:20

A German national has been extradited to his home country to face 37 counts of sexual abuse of children.

“Mr George Wilhem Kerkhof, a German national, is wanted to stand trial on 37 counts of sexual abuse of children and the trafficking of narcotic substances,” said police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini today.

Dlamini said Kerkhof allegedly committed the crimes while living in Germany and had moved to South Africa seven years ago.

“The process to extradite him at the request of the law enforcement authorities in Germany started last year,” he said.

Kerkhof was handed over to Interpol officials at OR Tambo International Airport, after which he would be flown to Germany.
