SA woman found alive after Westgate Mall terror

2013-09-25 16:19

A South African woman presumed to have been killed in the attack at the Westgate Mall in Kenya is alive and well.

SA High Commissioner in Nairobi Super Moloi told the SABC that the woman contacted her family last night.

“What happened was she came into Kenya on Saturday and she could not communicate with her family until last night.

“Her family contacted us to say she had problems with communication because the hotel she was staying at was close to the mall (that was attacked),” said Moloi.

It was earlier reported that officials suspected she had been in the mall when it was attacked by Islamist militants at the weekend.

Dozens of people were killed in the attack, including South African businessman James Thomas (57).
